More Easter cards...

A couple more Easter cards... These are made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits. It cuts such pretty little embossed butterflies. Just love it! I've used some old ribbon... happy to see the last of it put to use on these cards and some retired colors and stamp sets. It would be really simple to change these and make them for any occasion. The second card is CASE from Heather Cserni (creationsbyheather.com). Also used my Big Shot to cut the Lattice for the top card, to emboss the background of the second card (Lattice Square embossing folder) and to cut the larger petal card. The smaller one is made using the petal card punch.

 Friends came by to make Easter cards yesterday. I set the table up like a shoebox swap. I had 4 designs and we needed to make 7 of each design to send to this year's seminary interns.

The guests decided to concentrate on one design. It's always fun to share ideas. Most of the items used are from my stash of generic products and retired colors. Still working to deplete those inventories.  This card uses Circle Circus stamp set.

This card uses the single stamp "Easter Dove" from the Stampin' UP! Occasions mini catalog and some retired DSP scraps.  The dove was a bit of "fussy cutting" but really added to the card. The idea to fussy cut it came from Mary Fish's Stampin' Pretty blog.

This card is a "case" from Jen Sannes' Simple and Sincere blog. So simple and easy. And as Jen shows on her blog it can be used with lots of different sentiments from the Teeny Tiny wishes set.

This card uses the Nature Walk set. Just clean and simple; stamp and distress the edges of the card stock with your bone folder or distressing wheel. The sentiment comes from an old Sale-A-Bration set.  We left the card interiors blank because they will be available for all the seminary staff and students here in Chicago to sign before sending them on their way.

This is the card I made to Swap at the Stampin' UP! Milwaukee Regional. I went with my sister, who is also one of my downlines. We had fun, learned some new tricks and came home with lots of swaps and prizes.

Clean and Simple

Another card from the workshop using the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set, Crumb Cake ink and stamping off. We also stamped the lower left corner of a Very Vanilla medium envelope one time with the plant image. So clean and simple!

This is one of the cards we made at a recent workshop. I wanted the guests to see how quick and easy it is to make a pretty card and coordinating envelope. And to who them show Stampin' Up! products coordinate. I love the Triple Treat Flower stamp that coordinates with three punches. Here, I've used the Fancy Flower and 5-Petal punches after stamping two times with More Mustard ink. The Spice Cake Designer Series Paper is so pretty!

Snow Time!

Another card from a November workshop: It seemed like we were making this ahead of the season... but then we had snow flurries on Thursday. It's hard to tell in this picture but we used Dazzling Details to outline each ball of the snowman's body. That and the rhinestone in the center of the punched snowflake made for some quick and easy sparkle.

This past week I began to spend time with some friends at a retirement community in Chicago. I teach them how to make cards and we have a blast sharing life together. I try to keep the cards simple as some have health issues that limit their abilities. I assembled the feathers and heads for the turkeys and then they put them together and added them to their stamped cards. The turkey card was a big hit with those who have younger grandchildren.

The second card was my more elegant card. They really liked learning to stamp off as done in the inside of the card.
