Happy 4th!

Here's a quick and simple 4th of July card using Memorable Moments and Everything Eleanor stamp sets and a little scrap of Designer Series Paper. I added a few sequins and rhinestones to give him some bling.

Cards Inspired by Dad's Dad Favors

I made 60 of these Ghiradlli favors for the men in our churches to celebrate Father's Day. We had some special guests at church presenting a musical that morning and I wound up giving them to the guests, too. But, I still came home with 5 left over and so I made the cards like the one below. (And the best part I got to eat the chocolate!)

Sailing with Moving Forward and Itty Bitty Banners

I saw a card on Pinterest using this color combo and Moving Forward stamp set. I was just going to CASE it but when I looked in my Island Indigo scraps I found a couple of these Starburst circles already cut out. So, designed my layout around them. I like the way the Itty Bitty Banner stamp and framelit let me continue with the feeling of sailing.

Moving Forward Baby Card

Another baby card but this time I used the retired Moving Forward stamp set and some retired Baja Breeze Designer Series Baby. Remember Baja Breeze? It was one of my favorite colors when Stampin' Up! retired it. I was so disappointed, but I've come to love Marina Mist and so trying to use up my Baja Breeze.

Ribbon or Rhinestones?

 My baby card inventory was down to one card so it was time to get out the Zoo Babies stamp set and make a few cards. I had this idea in mind from a card on Pinterest. But as often happens I glued everything down forgetting to add the ribbon... so added rhinestones to that card (pictured below). Would do you like best?

A Pop of Real Red

I was challenged to make a mono-color card for a weekly challenge group I joined. The mono-card was all in Basic Gray and had a star instead of a heart and I added rhinestones instead of the red candy dots. I liked it but decided it would be fun to make the same card and add a pop of Real Red to it. So, switched the star to a heart and added red candy dots instead of the rhinestones.
I saw the design in the book Card Sketches for Papercrafters. It's a great way to use some zig-zag paper.

Happy Accident

A few years ago my sister coined the phrase "happy accident" when we were sharing some stamping time. One of us had mis-stamped something and then worked to make it look okay and liked the new design even better than the original idea.
Well this was a card that I started to make in the landscape position. My thought was I would put a piece of Designer Series Paper along the left hand side. I thought that paper was Pool Party. But when I stamped my Swirl in Pool Party it clashed with the paper. (Still not sure what color that paper was supposed to be.) Anyhow, I thought I might be able to re-stamp over it with a darker color and still use that DSP. But I didn't get the second image aligned exactly on the top. But loved the new stamped image. Since I had a piece of Night of Navy laying right by my trimmer I just grabbed it, decided to change the orientation and stamped my greeting and loved how it turned out. A happy accident!
