Sympathy Using In the Meadow

This is another card we will make in the class. We'll do this one second. Again it's a pretty easy card but will give them a different technique to try... watercolor wash background using a clear block colored with markers and then stamped on the paper. The rest of the card is simple stamping and layering of card stock.

In the Meadow

I finally got a chance to create with the new In the Meadow stamp set available in the Occasions catalog. It has such pretty sketched images. I used a clear block and three markers (Pacific Point, Perfect Plum and Wild Wasabi) and applied ink to the clear block to add color to the paper. Then I pressed the inked block onto the paper. Then I stamped the mountain image over that background. Simple and easy!

Here's another card using the tree sketch from In the Meadow. I just used two colors of markers here (Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi).

Bloom With Hope

Sometimes I pull out my old annual catalogs for inspiration. This layout and stamp pattern come from the 2006-2007 catalog. I've used new products on it except for the Chocolate Chip ribbon. The stamp set is one of the current Hostess sets in the annual catalog called Bloom with Hope. It has beautiful images and lovely script. I stamped the flower and leaves with Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke and then used a damp brush to fill in the color before fussy cutting them out. The card stock here is the Naturals Ivory and Always Artichoke. The Naturals Ivory card stock is a heavier weight than Very Vanilla and has little flecks in it and holds up better than vanilla for this technique. The lower right panel is stamped using Hello Honey ink pad and clear block. The larger ribbon is the Hello Honey Quilted Cotton Ribbon from the Occasions catalog.
