Throwback Thursday with Flocked Specialty Paper

I've had a sheet of this flocked DSP on my shelf for so long! I could never decide how to use it. It always seemed a bit overpowering on its own. By layering the Smoky Slate sunburst over the DSP it toned down the flocked DSP. I used some of the DSP scrap to punch out the butterfly and the background circle. CASE from Linda Heller.

Vellum Flower

I cut some vellum using the Sunburst thinlit and then just randomly shortened the rays. Then layered the punched circles over that. Quick and Easy. But you do have to be careful when pulling that vellum out of the sun3ellburst thinlit.

World of Congratulations

This card uses some map Designer Series Paper as a background behind the Daffodil Delight Sunburst. I sponged the center of the sunburst with some Tangerine Tango, Then I punched a circle of Pacific Point cardstock, ran that through the World Traveler embossing folder and lastly sponged that circle with Whisper White ink. Then it was putting all the elements together to make the card front. The expression comes from the Something to Say stamp set and inside I stamped the
"Now go change the world." stamp from that same set.

Gold Soiree Dots

Today's card uses one of the special papers from the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. It's hard to tell in the photo but some of the dots are made with Metallic Gold Ink. I've used the Big Day and Something to Say stamp sets and a circle punch plus three little Garden Green Candy dots.

Angel Ornament

This angel is made using the Gift Bow die. I'm busy making about 100 of these for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services at our churches. They'll be given to the children during the children's message. And then any family that didn't get one can pick them up at the door. This is our third Christmas here serving the two churches and each year I've made a little ornament to go along with the children's message or should I say I've made an ornament and then Pastor Brian tells a children's message that goes along with it.
Can you guess what stamp set I used for the embossing on the angel's garment?
It's the largest star from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set. The halo is made using the gold foil sheets and 1-3/4 and 1-1/4 inch circle punches. The little poinsettia is made using the the Boho Blossoms punch and the little center is punched from the halo scrap using a retired punch but you could use the little flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

I won't be posting again until next week. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and weekend everyone!

Birdie Birthday

The Hello Love hostess set (133928 c, 133925 w) was used to make this birthday card. (CASE: Linda Heller from StampingSchool.com) I used a Bermuda Bay card stock base and then cut a strip of Designer Series Paper from the Confetti Celebration pack (133692). Then I edged the DSP with a strip of Crushed Curry card stock that was punched using the Scallop Edge Border punch (119882). The hole for the window on front was punched with the 1-3/4" circle punch. Then I lined up the birdie stamp and stamped onto Whisper White card stock. The word bubble requires the use of two stamps so I got out my Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) to line up the expression inside the word bubble outline. This was cut out using the Word Bubbles framelits (132968). The bird was colored using the new Daffodil Delight Blendabilities markers ((130998). You need to stamp your image with the black Memento Pad (132708) when using Blendabilites markers. I am having so much fun coloring with these! I can't wait until I have all the colors.
