An Evening of Card Making at Library

Last month our library hosted a card making evening with a Stampin' UP! demonstrator (Judy) from the area. Here are the cards she had for us to make. It was so much fun because she used lots of things I don't have. And it's always fun to get new layout ideas.

Judy told us she hosts a monthly stamp camp. So several of us asked to be added to her email list for notices about it. And last Saturday, another friend and I drove to Judy's home for her June stamp camp. More fun cards and a chance to use lots of the new products from the new annual catalog., So, tuned in tomorrow to see those cards.

TBT Felt Flowers

I've had this pack of felt flowers in my drawer of accents for some time. These are actually the last of one bag. I have a full bag yet to open! Oh, my... so much stuff in that drawer. It was fun to design this card. I used sticky strip to adhere the flowers.

Hello Sunburst

This card is a lot like one I posted last week. While cleaning up the scraps on my desk I discovered this piece of map DSP and still have some gold strips from a previous Paper Pumpkin and Vellum scraps laying there. I remembered seeing a similar card on Pinterest but decided to just see would go together. It is hard to read the expression on the gold banner but it says "birthday boy". The stars were cut using my Big Shot and the strip of stars from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and one of those gold foil strips laying on my desk.

The Sky's the Limit

Using the marbled Designer SEries Paper today to mimic the sky. This card goes together quickly. The card I saw on Pinterest stamped the plane right on the DSP. It does actually fit but it requires careful placement. I decided I would stamped it on Whisper White cardstock and then fussy cut and adhering it to the card with dimensionals. The sentiment comes from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

Throwback Thursday with Flocked Specialty Paper

I've had a sheet of this flocked DSP on my shelf for so long! I could never decide how to use it. It always seemed a bit overpowering on its own. By layering the Smoky Slate sunburst over the DSP it toned down the flocked DSP. I used some of the DSP scrap to punch out the butterfly and the background circle. CASE from Linda Heller.

Under the Sea

I got this idea from Pinterest. It uses a only a portion of the Sunburst framelit. The waves were stamped on Pacific Point using Whisper White ink using the Oh Whale stamp. I stamped the submarine from the You're Sublime stamp set on Smoky Slate and filled in the windows using my Chalk Pen. I fussy cut the sub and adhered it using dimensionals. The expression comes from the Honeycomb Hello set.
